Commercial Architectural Photography for Matrix Construction

Architectural Photography is a niche market for Black Truffle Photography and our parent design and advertising company Locke Design Omnimedia. Locke Design created the branding and advertising for Matrix Construction, a large commercial contracting firm serving Upstate South Carolina. The new branding design included logo, stationery system, print advertisements, brochure and website design. Photography for these new advertising and marketing strategies was paramount to depict the vast capabilities of our client.

Often times we will unify a wide range of architectural designs with night photographs. The same time of day and night lighting not only unifies the diverse subject matter but also creates a colorful and magical feel that give emphasis to the building. Many times our photographer David Locke and assistant Danny Stone will use the “painting with light technique” to light a building that has no or very little exterior lighting. Our exposures are often 30 seconds which gives our photographers plenty of time to move around in front of the camera and manually bathe the building in strategically placed light with our handheld studio strobes. Then after the images are captured our post production techniques allow us to bring out the textures and colors of the structures in a way that truly sells the architectural artistry of the building. The architectural photographs below were captured on five different evenings over a three week period during the 15 minutes of magical light afforded each day.
