Have you ever been walking around outside and found a brightly painted rock? This may sound odd, but in fact is becoming quite a common occurrence. "Why are people hiding painted rocks?", you may ask. The idea began with an organization now known as ‘The Kindness Rocks Project’.

The Kindness Rocks Project strives to change lives by painting an encouraging word, or short inspirational message on rocks, and then hiding them in areas such as parks, downtown, or outside of businesses. The goal is for the finder of the rock to be inspired to perform acts of kindness, thus passing on a ‘kindness movement’.

Individuals since then have taken this idea of the Kindness Rocks Project and added their own flare to it. In 2017 and 2018, Locke Design will be painting and hiding their own “Locke Rocks” around the downtowns of Greenville and Anderson.

Each rock will be slightly unique, some displaying the many services offered at Locke Design, and all with information to our website included. Be sure to take a picture with your rock, and include the hashtag: #LockeRocks. Those who post pictures with our rocks and include this hashtag will be eligible to win prizes such as gift cards and discounts on Locke Design services. Keep your eyes open for #LockeRocks!

Check out some photos below of our interns from Anderson University Kate Earle and James Mason creating our #LockeRocks. We hope these bring a bit of happiness to you!
