Downtown Anderson, SC is transforming into a go-to place in our community. More lodging and restaurants are the linchpin to creating sustained growth and restoration. Four amazing Andersonian ladies are joining forces to create a unique concept in dessert and coffee bars. The bar will be housed in a redevelopment being constructed across from Anderson's City Hall in a historic building dating to the 1800's once a hotel rumored to contain a brothel.

The new dessert and coffee bar which will feature amazing breads, cakes, pastries, coffee and even wine will be called Whipped. Locke Design was tasked with creating a logo and branding platform that will soon be applied to website, signage and packaging for the new business. The clients asked for a brand and logo that would be attractive to Millennials and local Anderson University students as well as mothers of small children while not being off-putting to the male business man, the Gen-Xer or Baby-boomer.

The selected logo design uses a hand-written script "w" to emulate the feeling of whipped cream or icing dotted with a circular violet shape reminiscent of a cherry or nonpareil. The logotype in Thin Helvetica helps to balance the feminine and etherial lightness of the monogram-logo and gives an air of modernity to the branding scheme.

In addition to designing a logo, Locke Design Omnimedia also created a custom icon system integrating the logo into symbols for dessert, coffee and wine that will be used in the design of the business's website, interior signage and packaging.
